Naturally I couldnt leave it stock! Before I even picked up the car I had collected a closet full of mods. Each one carefully planned and selected, and each one I love dearly. No regrets! So keep watch.. this car is a fresh canvas with barely a streak of paint here and there on it. The masterpiece is just getting started!

Ok all joking aside.. I'm quite the serious woman. I'm serious and passionate about what I love in life, and I do love my car! Some call me obsessed... perhaps I am? But working on and driving my car makes me happy, and it gives me a great sense of accomplishment enjoying the fruits of my labor.
I have no clue why all this car business started. I do know that for some reason... the last generation Supra TT had alot to do with it. The silhoute of the Supra just struck me.. the sexy curves. I fell in love and set out to learn all that I could learn about this striking jap rocket. Of course my search opened me to so much more. Motor trend had done an article on tuner cars.. RS Akimoto Supra vs Peter Farrell RX-7 vs J. Bittle's widebody mustang etc etc... this turned me on to the aftermarket and basically started it ALL.
Then came the time that I wanted a car of my own to tune and modify and perfect into a unique reflection of myself. My current ride just wasnt cutting it, and I ended up with a spanking new 95 Mustang 5.0. Eight years I owned and modified that car. The week after I bought it, I already had it lowered and a set of wheels installed. I poured over magazines... learned all that could be learned... planned and schemed and came up with a winning layout. After eight years I ended up with a 300+ hp one of a kind show stopper that did it all. It was a daily driver, drag racer, open track and road course star, and winning show car. It was featured in magzines and well known in the digital world of the www. After eight years, however, I had changed, evolved, become a more sophisticated woman... and the tire scorching terror just wasnt me anymore, nor was it livable or fun to drive day to day.
And so began the search for a car that again reflected who I had become. I wanted something stylish that didnt look like every other car on the road. I wanted something fun and light and tossable, something that offered an easy canvas to express myself with. I drove alot of cars... and one day I hapened to go on a test drive with a friend in a used Golf 2.0 5 speed. I loved the look, the interior, the ride, and even the little 2.0 had decent pickup. It was a wonderfully fun car just to ride in. It struck a nerve deep inside... and that night I logged on to VW.com and did some research. I also found VWVortex.com through a friend on my usual mustang site. Not only did this open up a whole new world... it prompted me to take a trip to the dealer and go on a test drive of my own.
That day I took out a Golf GLS with the 1.8T and absolutely fell in love with the engine and the car. Thanks to the Vortex I already knew about the 2002 power increase and option changes and knew to wait for the 02 cars. So I sat, and waited, and planned... and then on August 24th I ordered the car I wanted. Exactly 4 months later on Christmas day I signed the paperwork and took posesion of my new baby, the Rave'n GTI!
